Our Lady Queen of Martyrs
110-06 Queens Blvd. Forest Hills, NY 11375
The Sacred Music Society of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church (Forest Hills, NY) presents “A CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL.” The concert will be performed under the artistic direction of Maestro David Close, Music Director of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs.
The program includes selections from Handel’s “Messiah” and beloved Christmas carols and holiday favorites. The performance features international guest artist John Easterlin (tenor), Paula Rocheleau (soprano), Christian De Los Santos (narrator), and Barbara Podgurski (piano and organ).
John Easterlin returns to bring us once again his thrilling “Ten Thousand Joys.” Our Youth Choir joins the celebration for the first time this year to perform the holiday gem “Blessed be that Maid Marie.” The angels share their message in song with Rutter’s enchanting “Angels’ Carol.” Come and hear the story of the “Night Before Christmas” in a choral setting that will delight young and old alike! Lift your voices in song with the entire chorus as we sing together “Adeste Fideles.” A stirring duet by John Easterlin and Paula Jean Rocheleau singing “O Holy Night” crowns this magnificent concert that is not to be missed.
The concert is a much-anticipated event at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church as parishioners and friends begin their preparations for the Christmas season. We are thrilled to share this glorious music with our parish and with all the citizens of our great city. This cherished annual tradition brings the whole community together, as the entire audience looks forward to Christmas while the chorus sings beloved holiday melodies!
The concert takes place in the church located at Ascan Avenue and Queens Boulevard. Tickets are $30 general admission; children 12 and under accompanied by an adult are free. For additional information, please call Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Rectory at 718-268-6251.
