The Mirror of Eternity: A Ballerina’s Reflection on the Theology of the Body

St. Agnes Church

143 East 43rd Street, New York, NY 10017

Join us for a personal witness talk by Claire Kretzschmar, a former NYC Ballet dancer who will share about theology of the Body and being Catholic in the NYC artist world. Talk begins at 7 PM with first Friday Mass at 5:10 PM followed by confession, holy hour, and fellowship at 6:30 PM.  Pizza and drinks will be served.

Claire Kretzschmar is a dancer, choreographer, teacher and co-founder of Arthouse2B. She formerly danced with New York City Ballet (NYCB) for twelve years, performing ballets by renowned choreographers at Lincoln Center and at theaters around the world. Today, Claire teaches a variety of dance classes, choreographs ballets inspired by the mysteries of her faith, and speaks regularly about the connections between the body and soul in movement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Fordham University and is the recipient of Lincoln Center’s 2015 Martin E. Segal Award for rising artists and NYCB’s 2017 Janice Levin Award for rising dancers. For NYCB, she currently co-hosts a podcast segment called, “The Rosin Box”, and for Arthouse2B, Claire assists with event planning and communicating with artists, with the hope that all participants may understand their inherent dignity and capacity for greatness.
