St. Anthony of Padua Relics

St. Ephrem Church

929 Bay Ridge Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY 11228

The Franciscan Friars from Padua, Italy, invite you to join them in welcoming Saint Anthony of Padua to the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, New York. St. Anthony will be visiting the area in the form of “two precious and first class relics” from the Pontifical Basilica in Padua, Italy. The two Relics on tour are fragments of St. Anthony’s Facial Skin and his Floating Rib. The Relic of the Floating Rib has special significance for the friars of Padua because it was venerated by Lucy of Fatima in her convent in Coimbra in 1995, and by then-Archbishop Jorge Maria Bergoglio (now Pope Francis) in the Cathedral of Buenos Aires in 2000. The relics will be accompanied by Fr. Mario Conte and Fr. Alessandro Ratti, two Franciscan Friars from the Pontifical Basilica in Padua, Italy, where the Saint is buried.
