DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the holidays with Monteverdi’s festive\, luminous music-where old world meets new\, and joy lights up the winter night. This December\, Music at Co-Cath (MACC) invites audiences to celebrate the season with Monteverdi Christmas\, a program of festive brilliance drawn from Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 and Selva morale e spirituale. \nPerformed at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph in Prospect Heights\, the concert places Monteverdi’s radiant settings in the soaring architecture of a sacred space\, evoking both grandeur and intimacy. MACC’s immersive staging will weave theatrical storytelling with choral majesty\, bringing centuries-old Christmas music vividly into the present. \n“Monteverdi is the bridge between Renaissance and Baroque\,” says Artistic Director Alejandro Zuleta. “His music is bursting with drama and color—perfect for a Christmas concert that feels both celebratory and deeply moving.” \nAll performances are free and open to the public. \nEvent Details\nDoors open at 7:00 PM\, and the performance begins promptly at 7:30 PM.
